 To the Friends of Sutukoba
I
would like to thank Risør and its community for their invitation
to join them in their 20 years anniversary celebration.
We, The Gambian people are very grateful for the efforts extended
to us, particulary to the people of Sutukoba and its surrounding
villages. Helping Sutukoba and its surrounding villages means
helping the entire Gambia people.
After a long way back dating twenty years ago when the friendship
started with a small scale project, which has now grown very big
nothing could be done from our end other than being very grateful.
This has gone a long way in sustaining The Gambia Government
efforts to develop and promote agriculture, not only in Sutukoba
but also in divisions of the country.
On behalf of the government and people of The Gambia, particularly,
the Department of State for Agricultur, we are appealing for your
continued support in the rice project and gardening.
It is Government's policy to alleviate poverty by promoting agriculture,
health and education, these could not be achieved without your
support, as government cannot go it alone. We have engaged in
130 big projects and wish other divisions can emulate Risør.
Finally, the people of Sutukoba convey their sincere gratitude
to Helga Arntzen and her colleagues for their tireless efforts
during the difficult stages in making the projects a success.
